Iraq attempted to using tooling supplied by Tito/Yugoslavia. Apparently the engineers they sent over werent particularly impressed with their skills.

I think India did or tried to but I could me mistaking it for that "new design" that isnt working.

Edit: Durr, forgot about South Africa with their Galil variant.

Iraq, and many other countries did or currently do as well. I think Cuba and Venezuela do as well. Pakistan, India

Has anyone here had a chance to pick up a Ukrainian?

mishaco 11-07-2017 02:31 AM

Yes, but it ended up only being a one-night-stand.

Here is a link to some pictures and information. It is in a PDF file. This is the MAG Rwanda AK Guide. Click on link and then change to "open with" if you do not want to save it. Then click OK. Lots of cool pics and selector markings and other info.

I think the Ukrainians got all of theirs from Russia. I donít think they ever manufactured Kalashnikovs. Some small scale rebuilding and modifying, but thatís it.

A few years back I read about a civilian version AK that had a cantalever rail . It wasent exported . Might have been a sporter
I can't find the link k but it was made in a south American country or a African country.

It was non military rifle.
I recall it because it had a optic rail like was building
.I'd love to find it again .

Ukraine never had any manufacturing facilities for AK. They are assembling Tavors now.

Ram Rod 11-09-2017 06:12 AM

So how is it that Mexico didn't make the list? You know. Hecho en Mexico

They developed a bullpup AK74 called the Vepr (not to be confused with Russian Vepr sporting rifle). Which I take to mean they modified their existing Russian AK74’s. This is what I was referring to in my post.

Is this confirmed? As in, they have/had a factory producing Kalashnikovs domestically?
