Negative.

That is a transitional, post-ban rifle that has been outfitted with a spiker bayonet.

Have you been looking for a spiker? If so, not a bad price.
Or are you just looking for a good deal? If this, I'd pass or try aand get him down a couple hundred.

A lot of folks here have been stumbling into crazy good Chicom AK deals lately. It seems like prices have dipped down recently.

Its not a good deal at that price.

Iíve always wanted a spiker. But you donít see much chi com anything here in Ca with the assault weapons ban and wanted more experienced opinions.

I’ll say it again Wut?

GSAD ‘s were some of the earliest chicoms imported. It’s preban OP & at 2K or a tad under IMO it’s a decent buy. Especially given that your in Cali.

After looking at the link closer, I noticed there are two different rifles in the calguns add. Please excuse me.

This is the rifle I was referring too, even though I should have noticed it in fact does not have the spiker.

AK

The serial number is what caught my attention.

Due to ca law people just take the pistol grip off for transportation etc to comply with the law.

Yes. I was referring to the pictures: one pic features a textured p grip, the other pic features a smooth grip. Am I seeing things, did the guy switch grips for pix (why), is he using someone else's pix?

Good idea. Also, the finish on the butt looks a bit different than the forewood, any chance this one came with a thumbhole and was converted (front & back)? Anyone know history on these?

The grain on the lower handguard looks different also (between pix). I'd guess those are 2 different rifles.

After looking at the marks on the receiver, axis pin, top cover I think I was wrong when I said those were two different rifles. Something is goody with the non-matching wood and the swapping p-grips. Seller might clear that up.

Thatís one of the very very few Chinese aks that you can get in California that isnít banned. In that case itís a sellers market.

Id be concerned whether the furniture has been changed. Most had dark furniture which would make this a big negative.

You are correct, the furniture on said GSAD is NOT ORIGINAL!!! Good price for a GSAD if it looked like mine.....

Gsad are really nice chicoms. $2k isn't a great price on it but they aren't making any more of them and they won't be getting any cheaper ever.
