Default Bought me some ammo for my ak😁

Went to fun show today to browse.

Picked up this 8m3 and these white blocks.
And a tanker

https://i.imgur.com/6RO3F3pm.jpg

Spent 50 bux for all the 8m3
25 for both white blocks.

And 15 on a tanker.

Anyone have info on the white blocks?

They are russain hp.the guy selling them said they were corrosive.
I just said eff it and got these two because 25$ for 240 rounds isnt bad at all..

Pictures of some casings would help. Interested in seeing those. Seems almost suspicious selling for that price.

White packs are Klimovsk Russian, 6 white paper boxes of 20 PCS. Each. Non-corrosive, HP L.C.B., 123 GR BALL Made to hunting specifications.

Very common around 1998-2000, should have the date on the headstamp. Average price is $15-$25 per pack of 120 rounds.

I'm going to guess the headstamp will have the Klimovsk logo, 99 for the date and 7.62x39

Open one up and let us know.

Opened one up.was kinda anxious but scared at the same time.was thinking, watch it be bundles of coke when i open it haha.

Im guessing corrosive?if you notice it looks like the "non" was marked out with a sharpie.

Yep it has 7.62x39 and 99 along with a little stamp.

It was and older gent selling the ammo.
He was asking 25 a pack.but i had went back to get a few more 8m3.
And he mentions he lowered the price to 15 a pack.and said he wwould do 2 for 25$.so i said why not.

Maybe you ought to rummage around in the 'ammunition' sub-forum where we actually talk about shit like this? I mean that might be a little common sense even though I realize it could be too much to ask. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=3
Plenty of threads already there.

Why would anyone in their right mind do something like that?

Ammo is ammo right? If it shoots it shoots. Why else buy it?
Maybe it's 8HP ammo?
Sure would like to see some original price stickers. I figure even in Texas most folks know their shit. I'm not saying that half price or less is out of the question, it just hasn't passed through my BS detector yet. The guy you bought from could have been old and senile too. We just don't know. What's also perplexing is the fact that when folks actually post images on the forum, they end up being enormous sizes, but when links only are posted they seem to hit the opposite end of the spectrum and be microscopic. Funny how things work I guess.
One thing is obvious though. You trim your fingernails shorter than mine. Your fingers do look soft and apparently you've done well to avoid any paper cuts lately.

If you need more links to some specific threads in the AMMUNITION sub-forum where these have been discussed at length, just let me know. I've been known to "enable" other folks in the past.

Not at all. Just wakin' 'em up I reckon. It's Monday 11-13-17 so if any of you feel lucky today, might buy a scratch off lottery ticket. These kind of numbers will never come up again.

LOL!

8HP

I guess I may have to cut open another one of those bullets. I kinda made a mess out of the first one with a pair of side cutter pliers. But I did find the little plastic 'pill' in the base and they are lead core and have the pre-fail cuts in the hollow point jacket on the inside like everyone describes the 8M3 design.
I think I have some boxes of both labelled corrosive and non-corrosive.
Just from what I've read here or searching Google, some of these may have been remanufactured as in the projectile was replaced and maybe the powder. Not quite sure, and maybe this thread will shed more light on the subject.
But this is one of the reasons why this is in my SHTF stash. I do need to test some out on gallon water jugs. I had planned that earlier this year but haven't followed through with it yet. Then again, I should test some of this 8M3 at the same time. Destroy a dozen or so water jugs, maybe more. Need to clean out my garage for next summer anyway. I have a mountain of empty gallon water jugs right now.

I bought some of the Russian in plain white packages in the early 90's. Shot some and kept some. It was not corrosive.
