Default SAM7K

Been looking at the SAM7K-01 pistol and wondering if a KAK Shockwave Blade pistol brace can be used on it. Any of you fellas know if the Blade can be installed and if so is it something that requires a good amount of work to be done on the Pistol?

I don't see why not. It can't be much different than what this guy did to his Draco: https://youtu.be/GYH7Ny_jqQ0

The only difference (that I know of at least) is that the SAM7k has a hole drilled on the back for the sling swivel, but I don't see that hole getting in the way at all.

Ok worm I appreciate that. The video was great. What are your thoughts on the quality of the Draco vs the sam7?

I've owned both the SAM7k & two Dracos. Both are quite nice in my experience. I'll always give the edge to a milled receiver. I just prefer them. That being said, one thing I didn't like was the muzzle set up & fake attachment on the SAM7k. Draco wins there. It also wins with the traditional rear sight, once again just my opinion though. Something about the sights being set so far back on the top cover of the SAM7k always annoyed me, despite the slightly longer sight radius it offers. You can't even use the side attachment for optics when in stock configuration. = lame. Both of those things I'm sure could be modified with enough dedication though. Just depends on preference, and of course keeping cost in mind if it's an issue.

Can't really go wrong with either though. Both will serve you well. At least they did for me. Fun guns. Personally, if I were to ever get another AK pistol, I'd grab the SAM7k again, and save up to modify it to my likings. Just because I'm an Arsenal milled receiver snooty snob.

Here's your answer... I have several DIY tutorials for the SAM7K pistol.

Installing a Stormwerkz Folding Mech and Shockwave Brace on a SAM7K Pistol. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=188548

Removing and installing a threaded FS/GB on a SAM7K Pistol. http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=144753

It works well on one. I have one on a 7K and used the CNC warrior folder. You don't even have to drill anything. Just remove the swivel on the back and bolt it right on.
Perfect fit, 5 minute job.
