Default Norinco NHM underfolder

Hey guys,

I recently saw a Norinco NHM 90 underfolder. I assume this was converted to the underfolder after the fact but from my cursory inspection it looked original. It has a solid/milled folding stock instead of a stamped one.

Anyone know what the proper folding stock would be, stamped or solid?

It also has a flip up phosphorescent rear sight and an unusual front phosphorescent sight that slides up over a spring/wire into position. It's hard to describe and it took me a while to figure out how it worked.

Anyone know if it's original to the rifle. It looks it but it's hard to know for sure.

TIA

I wouldn't be surprised if it were real. There's all sorts of strange Chicom rifles. I have seen a Norinco Hunter underfolder, so anything's possible.

It also might have had this weird cloverleaf like plug that someone knocked out, too.

Thanks,

Do you know if Norinco made stamped or solid underfolder stocks, or both? The pictures I Googled all seem to show them as stamped. This one had solid arms, and there was a clicking detent to hold the butplate in place.

And where would the cloverleaf like plug be located?

My Chinese folder has a stamped stock.

I believe the Legends that were folders also had stamped folding stocks.

The weird plug thing was used for rifles that were originally built as folders, so they could use a fixed stock and therefore be importable to the US during the ban. I've attached a photo of one from an image search.

Thanks for the info. The one I saw looks to have been converted back to an underfolder. The fixed stock tang at the rear of the receiver had been cut off and the area refinished. The stock was solid and machined, not stamped. Don't know what type.
