Default Arsenal SAM7R 2100 round count inspection

For anyone interested, I did a vid on a post 2000 round count inspection on a SAM7R that had been purchased new by me. Very early on, mostly in the first couple of weeks I did several modifications including trigger to G2, stock, stock adapter, brake, optics and so on. The barrel and receiver look great, as well as the grand majority have held up very well.

I did a bolt modification to ease ejector wear around the 1200-1500 mark, which has been a success. I do see another bolt mod possibility that could ease wear on carrier where the lug rides in the worm trench, and on the lug itself. These two areas showed the most wear as of yet. For those interested you can see it here:

The wear in particular I'm talking about is here:

Last guy who tried doing the same high round test on AK forum ended up selling his SAM 7 and made up a lie of it exploding, I sure hope this will not be another one of that cluster fuck.

I guess if you know that story, then you know I'm the one who outed him on it. Unlike that story, I like to show pics and vids. I prefer to learn and contribute if possible.

Oh one day he claimed the receiver broke and exploded at 6700 rounds or so, and he sold it on the spot for $650 without after contact Arsenal who were assholes to him. It didn't add up, after being pressured for a few days he broke like the "Ok fine it was me" guy we had.

You have to upload your photos to Photobucket or other hosting sites and then post them here.

Thanks for the video. Even though it wasn't your intent it gave me a better understanding of what goes on under the hood when I pull the trigger.

Yea, I took a 2 week break and cam back, saw the final page and had to back track like 10 pages!

TexasGunSmith just kept on and on and I could relate to his questions that made full sense opposed to the plantiff, and then he admitted he had to sell his rifle due to family health issues and gave a big FUCK YOU to TGS for driving him to admit it after weeks of "Cmon man, you mean to tell me that you did" kinda stuff.

Nothing wrong with him selling for his mom's surgery (if true, no clue), but that guy had TOO MUCH pride in his SAM though.

I would say "I need some spine proofed Bulgy steel mags and a minty Tula mags" and he would say "The only mags I have are Bulgy's with spine proofs and Minty Tula steel mags, But I'm in CA so I cant trade, sorry" and always seems overly optimistic as if he may have been bullshitting alot of the time. Would talk about being broke but giving away cases of ammo to friends and shooting 1k per weekend.

Then one day we hear "Well, the ear of the trunnion that the cam lug locks under broke off and it blew up while firing, the rifle did great so I am happy and got my money's worth. I sold the parts to the guy in the next booth for 600, but I have NOTHING bad to say about Arsenal nomatter what happened. Go buy a SAM7!!!"

NO PICS EITHER! "TGS" was like a shark in a blood filled pool once that was said.

Smelled fishy miles away how a rifle he adored and talked about daily in a thread on his "round count" and it supposedly blew up at 6k rds, after Kvar said they were good to over 100K which he was looking forward to, and he didn't make a claim, nor get warranty work (which you CAN do with Arsenal for $150 after it runs out) and persuaded everyone that the incident was isolated and not to judge Arsenal and that he would buy another.

"TGS" (Tex) kept on him for like 2 weeks until he finally broke, it's a great read over on (theakforum (dotNET)! I asked the guy TONS of questions in that thread and he told me half of my peening issues were normal which are not. Being it seemed like he just agree with everything most of the time, I did it even more to see how far he would go.

Awesome job Texas Gunsmith! Always felt you truly knew more about them!

I am curious to see how this turns out. I love my SAM7 SF. Such a fine AK. I have only put a couple hundred rounds through it though.

There is no issue with the rifle. If anything, it's just fine tuning.

Well done. Thanks for taking the time to share. I have a SAM7sf and only have 5-600 through it at this point. Thanks for the look into the future. Will be interesting to compare as time goes on.
