Still, there are a lot of things I don't like about them, which always causes me to sell/trade them off. I'd consider them a decent baseline for a defensive pistol, and many others as improvements upon that base. That's where I see Glock these days.
They are the pickup truck of the handgun world, ugly, basic, but stone cold reliable

If they ever decide to discontinue Gen 4 19s, I'll go buy 2 more.

I especially see the Glock 20/21 as the sleepers of the clan. PLENTY of reliable POWER.
The convertibility to other calibers is excellent.

My Glock 20 has an arm brace and will have an RMR which will allow 150 yard rapid shots. with the arredondo extended capacity basepads, I now have a "pistol" that can act as my dufflebag carbine if I don't want to use an AR pistol.

My Glock 21 upper has the 460 rowland conversion setup so when I am hiking in
Bear country (I don't mean Black Bear either), I have 13 + 1 of mid range .44 magnum power.

Yep, go Glock.

The Glock and the AK make a good, reliable, stable couple that will grow old together!

Long term owner of a Gen2 / G19 here. Very nice pistol.

I like my Sig SP2022 better.

Congrats. Most friends I know, and a couple dealers in town, all like the gen 4 better. They are way outselling the gen 5. Mainly cause of the huge half moon cutout where your pinky sits.

Glock definitely needs to fire someone over that

I've tried time and time again to switch to another gun manufacturer....but after going to S&W, sig sauer, cz, walther, hk, sti (yea i know it's in its own category), canik...i kept going back to glocks....i work in a giant gun range/store down here in florida and have probably shot over 200 different kinds of pistols.....What i can say now is, i have a couple of other pistols that i'll never get rid of like my renaissance browning hi power, the rest are glocks....i own about 18 of them, 7 alone being different kinds of G19s ;-)....enjoy your glocks, ya did good sir, real good

You guys are right. Glocks multiply. Won some $$ on my favorite slot (again) and picked up a G43 TALO edition for $350. Got some +1 mag extenders as well.

Fired the G19 over the weekend and LOVE it. The stock trigger, while not great at all, is perfect for defensive situations due to it not being too light (squeeze it under stress accidentally). I feel much more comfortable carrying the G19 over my PPQ m2

Congrats on your Glock. Love mine. Although I'm still all about H&K, as long as its German/Austrian I'm happy.

Side note: Anyone get their pinky finger pinched while firing a G26? I don't, but my lady keeps getting her pinky finger pinched between the grip and the mag portion which sticks out. Weird.

Welcome aboard!

The Glock 19 was my first handgun purchase in 2012. I carry it daily and I have several other Glock handguns that I trust my life to.

I need to take an updated family photograph. I have added a 17 RTF2 with fish gills, 19X, + 43 since that photograph was taken.

Check out a 34 over the 17.

And while not as light and short as a "great" trigger, I think Glock triggers are fucking great. Very predictable with a very positive reset.

+1. I actually like it. Great for carry as you donít have to worry about too light of a trigger pull. I hit the target just fine with it, so no issues

Get the G17. It is the first and original Glock. If you can find a reasonably priced gen 1, get it. Otherwise gen 2's can be had for $350 or so. G17, G19 and G26 cover the whole 9mm spectrum of what you would want or need.

I donít know what casinos you guys go to!!!

I wasnít big on Glocks. Got my first one as a sweetener to a trade. It was a Glock 37. The weird one in that .45 Glock auto cartridge. 9mm size frame with .45 cal bullet. It was cool and the most accurate Glock pistol Iíve seen to date. I think the previous owner just wanted to get rid of it. I landed about 3,000 pieces of brass at a LEO website and started loading ammo on my progressive press. Was a lot of fun while I had it.

I moved on to Glock 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, and 32ís. Iíve had multiples of some. Gen 3ís and 4ís for me. I like the gen 4 the most. The model 23 is my personal favorite. Iím still on the .40 S&W train. I didnít jump ship when some guys on YouTube figured out that 9mm hurts too!

Thumbs up

steveTA1983: Congratulations!

Having never owned a Glock, and really liking my Sig 228/229 series and CZ Compacts (less time with these), One thing I must admit:

my shooting always has tighter groups with a buddy's Glock that with my Sigs, and maybe better than the CZs.
This surprised me.

The gun seems to compensate for those who have very limited formal tng. and hands of a certain size.

Wait till you try the M&P Compact. Feels way way better in the hand the 19.

M&P's do feel better in hand, but, the hinged trigger sucks ass, the accuracy is "meh", and they feel much heavier than the Glocks do. I tried to be a fan, but just couldn't. Sold both I had quickly. The $39 Apex, Glock-style trigger was a good upgrade but not good enough.

Fair enough. I donít mind the trigger. The new grip texture is really nice.

With the new gen 5 having a huge cutout where your pinky lands, M&P wins hands down. Glock really needs to make a better grip on the gen 6.
