Default Norinco type 56 c or type 56-3 The most unobtanium AK ever?

I was browsing through IMFDB.org and came across one of the most badass and little known AK variants around. The type 56C or Type 56-3

http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:Type56C.jpg

Building a clone of one of these will prove to be impossible as the gas block and muzzle booster are pure 24 carat unobtanium and hyper rare stateside. Unless, someone here knows where I could obtain one? Just look at those handguards and that tapered reciever.

People call this the Chinese Krink or "Chink".

Supposedly a clone of one was used in Machine Gun Preacher but I don't think that is what they were going for. It really doesn't look anything like it except for the rear folder.
http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Machine_Gun_Preacher

Here is the one they are referring to as being the supposed clone.
http://www.imfdb.org/images/2/29/MGP_R5-T56C_03.jpg

What do you guys know about these little guys? Any discussion is appreciated. I would love to find the parts for one but I have finally found something that I don't believe can be had in this country at any price.

Is that a Hunter/Galil receiver in that second photo?

So much WTF going on with that rifle!

Talk about Khyber Pass?!

I just thought of something. Supposedly this rifle was issued to Chinese navy commandos. I think the gas block might be for adapting a blank fired line thrower from ship to ship rather than for a grenade launcher.

They have a lot of info on this rifle on akforum.net. More pics, as well. Like the tapered receiver and euro river pattern. Supposedly there is an export model, as well as the ones that the Chinese navy use.

I had two barrels for them that were imported in the 1990's before the Chinese import ban. I didn't have any of the other parts for them though.

I wonder if anyone has ever successfully cloned one of these. I am gonna go over to akforum and see what they have.

Valmet are about the only stamped, tapered receiver guns. Never heard of anything else, stamped, having a tapered receiver in the US.

No. No gas port, no barrel parts. Just bare barrels.

Well those ones are definitely 556 but I am not sure how these are related to the type 56 C.

Wasn’t there a guy selling both the upper and lower hand guards for a 56C in the MP recently?

I dig it because it is so different, but wow that would be hard to clone. So many oddball parts for an AK.

I'd really like to know how this was obtained Swiss_Armed_Soldier. Are these available in Europe or very hard to find anyplace outside China? Also, does yours have the fun switch?

I wonder, if one were to fire say 150 rounds a day spread out over 50 round sessions. I think the rifle could make it. It is still junk, but as long as heat and friction wear were spread out, I think the cheap parts could hold.

But I still enjoy my Maks.
