Yes you did. I own that rifle now. I smoothed up a few things on it and had it hot blued. I'm actually debating on selling it soon.

Matt - I sent you an email about some work I'd like to get done.

Trying to wrap my mind around that gas block. It's adjustable, yes?

Looks that way, the metal clip holds it in whatever setting you have it on. Sweet pics!

I think I see how it might work. GB rotates clockwise, maybe flat metal clip can be moved downward to engage it's other hole to retain the clip for GB disassembly? Hmm, how to remove the adjustment assy? Looks like GB is pinned top and bottom, top pin over bottom pin.

Very nice to see good pics of this rifle, thanks Swiss Armed Soldier!

What is the purpose of hooding the rear sight block? Does it also serve as a mounting base?

tbh i don't know why so many people lust over chicom aks, the machining is slightly worse than Romanian guns, the bluing rusts by looking at it, the recoil spring is made super cheap by using just a winged plate and some super flimsy thin wire instead of a machined button and heavy gauge wire , the bolt and carrier has no finish and rust super easy, the rear trunnion is cast and roughly at that, barrels are pretty rough compared to euro guns. The reason many people hold them is high esteem is that they are banned and command a premium, if Chinese guns were available today, they would be sold at walmart for 400-500$ and according to the euro market made much worse than 80's and 90's chicom guns

Firearm bolts etc., have been "in the white" for 100 + years without issue. Zastava firearms do the same., not an issue at all.
The Chinese actually build quite decent firearms.
While they are over valued based on import restriction and of course the pre ban not needing the 922r US parts.
Never heard of any recoil assembly problems in the springs etc.

They did buff their firearms a lot but bluing military rifles was common among most countries. More recently paint has replaced the bluing however.
T
hey are very well made firearms., but over priced is all,
