Midway through the month of January, I promised myself that I would purchase a Plum Arsenal 107 if Atlantic Firearms replenished inventory. I submitted a request + I received an email within three days stating that the rifle was back in stock. Suffice it to say, I had a plum 107 on layaway within minutes of receiving the notification!

Before I move forward with my post, I want to commend Atlantic Firearms for consistently delivering on their end. Over the past two years, all of my questions have been answered within a timely manner + their shipping department is first rate. For example, my balance was satisfied on Sunday, I received a shipping notification on Monday, and it was delivered to my local gun shop by Wednesday morning.

As you can imagine, it was a joyous moment when I received the message from my dear friend Mike that my rifle had arrived!

Upon receiving the message, I was on the road within minutes! This is the first Arsenal 107FR that I have purchased that included the factory box. Atlantic Firearms shipped my 107-31 in a hard rifle case + the owner of the 107-34 only included the manual + cleaning kit.

Ladies + gentlemen, I present my Arsenal 107-32! She is an absolute beaut + the photographs do her no justice! Please let me know if you have a Plum 30 or 40 round Bulgarian Circle ((10)) magazine for sale.

107-32 x 107-31 x 107-34

Beautiful AK collection Cartel, have you ever considered getting a VZ58?

They are a high quality Gun just like the arsenal, I think you would like it.

2015 was the year of the AK for me too my brother! OPAP, Saiga, Maadi, and a NHM91. 2016 has already started with a SA-93! I have a fever and the only cure is more AK's!

My friend, thank you for the kind remark + the VZ 58 recommendation! I had considered purchasing a VZ 58 last year, but at the time, I was still new to the AK world + I did not want to purchase a weapon that required proprietary magazines. Fast forwarding to today, that has changed, and I would welcome the opportunity to purchase a copy or two. With that being said, in today's climate, what do they range for in price? What is the difference between a VZ 58 + VZ2008 rifles?

Welcome to the club, my friend! There is not one rifle on that list that I would not be proud to own! What are you eyeing next? Do you have any photographs of your collection?

Thanks Cartel! I'll try and get some pics up soon! My next addition, hopefully will be a preban chinese. The guy I bought the NHM from said he had 8 other AK's, but wasn't selling for now. He said they all had pg's and most where chinese, said a couple were russian. He said one chinese was a side folder. I gave him $550 for the NHM and he threw in 500 rnds of norinco ammo. I'm also looking hard at a Micro Drako

This is the VZ58 you want, Atlantic says they will have more coming in soon.

The VZ2008 was a Century clone of the VZ58, it was an ok gun but not up to the quality of the VZ58.

You need a Zastava M76!!

Why? Damn if I know. The biggest caliber AK commonly available is a crown jewel for the collection. Heck, since I've got mine nothing else seems to measure up.

Having said that, I did recently see a M85 pistol in 5.56 that would be my first stamped AK and first AK pistol if I were to buy it.

A Chinese variant is on my short list of AK's to buy next. I instantly regret not seizing the opportunity last year to purchase a straight cut receiver MAK 90. A vendor at our local gun show had it for 5 months and I kept saying, "next time" until it was finally gone.

As for Bulgarian rifles, Arsenal's milled offerings on my radar. Such as the SA-93, SLR-95, SLR-101S, + a OD Green SAM7SF-84. I would like to purchase another plum 107 + a 107 with a triangle stock as well.

Thank you for all your enlightenment + assistance thus far, my friend! I look forward to reporting back when they become available again. In the meantime, I will start to accumulate surplus magazines for the rifle.

I must say, you peaked my curiosity. After scratching the surface a bit more, you have my attention. By the looks of it, it is a forced to be reckoned with! I will add it to my growing list of AK's to purchase, my friend.

Two weeks ago, I discovered that this little gem that was being offered for sale locally. I, without hesitation, contacted the seller immediately. We came to terms on pricing and finalized the transaction yesterday. Best of all, I had the pleasure of connecting with a fellow local enthusiast.

I am extremely pleased with my purchase and for a variety of reasons. For starters, the rifle is an actual AK that was built by CUGIR in a Romanian factory. Secondly, the rifle is chambered in 22 LR. Last but not least, my nieces and nephews now have another option to shoot at the range.

Without further ado, I present my AKT-98!

WOW! Lots of nice ak's!! And Cartel you must have a very nice collection now. You are a lucky man sir.

I know everyone has different tastes but how about some of the hard to get kits that are available. I started getting kits after sandy hook. I wanted a real Tula aks74u and everything was getting bought up, so I got one.
You may never have the chance to get a '68 or '69 Soviet Tula or Izzy. Not to mention rguns still sells a few real aksu kits. And there are still some East German kits for sale.

I started getting the most expensive kits first. Work my way down the line and save the current production guns to buy later. May have to pay a little more, but you will have the jewels. I picked up an AES10b and Vepr 12 last month. It is slowly coming together.

Please keep us updated!!

After much debate, I decided to have the barrel of my AKT-98 threaded. I had the pleasure of meeting with Robert Forbus at his shop this morning in Greenbrier, TN. Robert was highly recommended by the AK community and I was overjoyed to learn that he was local. Within an hour of arriving at his shop, Robert successfully threaded my barrel to 1/2x28. Robert was extremely accommodating + his attention is to detail is unparalleled. Having said that, I strongly recommend Robert for all of your barrel needs!

With further ado, my newly threaded AKT-98 + Dead Air Armament Mask 22 suppressor!

Here's a group pic with two "wanna-be" AK's at the end.
EDIT: Updated family pic. The VZ2008 had to take a "time-out" for this one.

My fifth WASR 10 followe me home this afternoon. My best friend sold me the rifle with two magazines and 120 rounds for $500.

Last and but not least, I pulled the trigger on my first parts kit a few weeks ago. It is a numbers matching Egyptian Crutch kit. I ordered a Childers reciever last night and now I am on the hunt for a virgin Romanian barrel. I am crossing my fingers that my receiver will arrive by the end of the year. The build is scheduled to commence January of 2017.

My humble little collection. I only started in March. The small quantity is made up for by strong quality and diversity.

Well if you keep that up you are going to have one hell of a collection by the end of the year!
You did well with the 2 IO imports. (IO should have just stuck with the imports instead of making their Domestic trash, shame)

Nice start.

Excellent work! You will need to update us once your kit builds have been completed, my friend. I will begin chipping away at my first kit builds at the end of the year.

I wholeheartedly agree!

Speaking of which, I am overdue for an updated photograph of my collection. My last collection photograph was taken a week ago last year from today.

By Monday, I had already received my shipping confirmation and I picked her up from my FFL this afternoon. A special thank you is owed to Atlantic Firearms for their lightning quick shipping and their flawless track record with me over the years. They are highly recommended in my books!

I will be submitting my paperwork to Form 1 the Draco alongside my PAP M92 by the end of this week. Once my paperwork has been approved, I will be adding a triangle side folder to the Draco + a underfolder to the PAP M92.
I was very impressed with the Draco I bought when they first returned after a long hiatus, guess it's been a year or two ago now. As there usually are, there's probably some variances in the build quality with the different batches that have been imported since then and I only have one so I'll not make any all encompassing pronouncments, but my Draco is a fine example of a properly built AK.
I like your plans and feel confident in saying it will be one your favorites after the build.
