The only thing I am glad I did this year - I got rid C39v2 and got 3 Arsenals I might get another one before election.

You made an excellent decision, my friend. What model Arsenal rifles do you own? Have you purchased another prior to the election?

The stars have aligned. I am officially the proud owner of a Chinese MAK-90! The opportunity presented itself via one of the local forums last night. I missed out on a MAK-90 at the gun show last year and I promised myself that I would not let that happen again. I could not be any happier with my purchase!

I think there is a Chinese FSB and Gasblock combo for $350. If it's still around I'd snatch it up and de-ban this!

+1.

Finding the parts to deban and match up to milspec is part of the fun.

I am glad the this thread resurfaced. In rereading the first posts, I am reminded of my own situation. When I moved to Nevada I had a single AK. Living in Commiefornia and having to deal with their stupid bullshit laws, it's no real fun trying to collect interesting AK's due to their ban.

After I moved two and a half years ago, I started buying guns that interested me and I couldn't legally own in the PRC. Last year the the AK bug hit me extremely hard and since then I have been buying every rare or hard to get version I can afford. I can't say that I am on the level of Cartel or hanselhd, but I have gone from just one to a few in a relatively short time. I may be perpetually broke, but by god I've got a few AK's!

I paid $650 for my unconverted MAK back in August, although the prices seem to be trending up lately. I was thinking about the price of a debanned one when I said a grand

Polytechs tend to run about $1500~2000+, which makes the MAK's a deal. Legends are selling from $2500 to $4000 depending on condition.

Within days of acquiring my first Chinese MAK-90, i have officially acquired my second. I met with a local collector this afternoon and we did a bit of horse trading. The rest, as they say, is history!

Forgive my ignorance, but are these the parts that I would need to convert the rifle into a Spiker?

You have amassed a well diversified collection in such a short amount of time. There is not a rifle in that photograph that I would not be proud to own. Thank you for sharing!

I foolishly passed on the opportunity to purchase an unconverted square back MAK-90 at the gun show last year for $650 out the door. In the last year, they have trended locally for $750-$1,000.

Thanks for the kind words.

I too, have noticed the prices rising on MAK's. Kind of a shame because for the longest time they were the best unknown and under appreciated deal going for a quality AK. When I got mine I really wasn't looking for one as I had just bought a spiker, but one thing I have learned over the years is to never pass up a decent deal.

There have been a few for sale here locally, but the people selling then must be smoking crack because the prices they are asking are up there in Polytech territory and when I call on them they aren't willing to deal.

I don't specifically collect AK's, but I like pre ban guns and here lately I keep running across them especially the Valmets.

At the present moment, I have another "Iraqi Contractor" WASR 10 + Draco pistol that are expected to arrive to my FFL next week. From this point + forward, I will continue to purchase as many factory made + imported rifles. At the top of my list are the AES10B's (wink, wink)! What other factory made + imported rifles would you folks recommend to me?

I drank the Kool-Aid and I purchased my first VEPR. I placed the rifle on layaway through Atlantic Firearms nearly 45 days ago, paid the balance off last Tuesday, and it was in my hands by the following Tuesday.

I am beyond impressed with the fit and finish of the rifle. I now understand the popularity behind the VEPR series of rifles. They are truly built to a higher degree of quality. I plan on leaving the rifle in sporter configuration due to the fact that I have a Molot FM-AK47-11 on layaway via K-Var. Thank you for the quality recommendation, my friends!

After waiting 231 long days, I received my tax stamp for my Dead Air Mask suppressor this week. This particular can will spend most of its time affixed to my Romanian AKT-98. I am ordering a RS Regulate side mount + Primary Arms Micro Dot to complete the build. I purchased the rifle for my nieces and nephews to shoot but I find myself shooting it the most. I would like to add a WASR 22 + a KK-95 RPK into the fold.

Dead Air Mask x Romanian AKT-98

I purchased my first Egyptian rifle yesterday. It was a very unexpected purchase, my friends. My dealer called me yesterday to inform me that my Childers receiver had arrived. As luck would have it, they took in the Egyptian MAADI (Intrac) in a deal hours prior to my arrival. I inspected the rifle, we came to terms on a price ($625 plus tax), and the rest was history. In addition to the rifle, I recieved the original 5 round magazine, a 30 round East German, a 40 round Chinese flatback, operation manual, + the final inspection certificate.

I have decided to liberate this rifle from its post ban configuration. Therefore, I am in seek of a MAADI brown grip + matching MAADI lacquer wood stock. Please let me know if you have any of the aforementioned pieces for sale or a lead.

Without further ado, I present to you my Egyptian MAADI (Intrac)!

2016 has been a year of learning about AK's for me.
It started badly with my first AK being a C39v2.
I fixed what I could by buying and installing a 1960 Polish Bolt carrier, recoil spring assembly and a couple of Bulgarian spare bolts just in case the rifle turns to dust as predicted by so many on this board. It has been a good performer so far.

I guess the one good thing buying the C39v2 did for me was turn me on the AK platform in a big way. All rifles I've purchased since the C39v2 have been from the Comboc.
