Rob, lee, anyone; what is the higher tech casting method? I read a blog post in October by you Rob describing cast trunion as cutting corners, but here you seem to have a bit more faith going into the 5000. What separates this from say a ras47 cast trunion for us simple guys like me ?

You can see the difference even in the way how rear sight post was made. On Ras47 you can clearly see pitting - casting marks, here, surface is smooth as baby ass, even without machining.
But that could be cosmetics only.
I came to this rifle open minded - whatever happens, i will accept results of it, but notice that i'm wearing my eye pro all the time, as you know me, this is very unusual for me...lol...;-)

Good stuff! Always grab that eyepro I tried sculpting and set mine down, after pulling a shard of stone out of my eye I don't take chances. Same with shooting just takes that one round overloaded or hang fire and bang your a cyclops!

And we always appreciate the honest reviews

I honestly have no idea, this what Atlantic Firearms would know.
Also, i see that Lee Armory is using those parts kits, so they may have an idea about price for the whole, assembled rifle.

I have a couple questions Rob. First what type of ammo are you using and would it be possible to run hp and sp to ensure function? And the failure to fire, at about what round count did this occur? I do like the sound of these kits just want to know how the run compaired to there older brothers.

I have, what may be a basic question. Since I am new to this, is having deformation on the back of the WBP tail a big deal?

I will be building four kits, three Polish, an EG and one WBP kit. I had planned to use the Tapco G2 on all but this threads raises questions for me. Seems the G2 is fine on the forged parts but something a bit softer is good for the cast? Or does the deformation even matter?

Thank you for doing this, very interesting to see how things hold up.
Cheers
Kinley

Is WBP using the same cast parts on their military contract rifles? I would assume so and I'm sure they tested the hell out of these parts.

Polish Army runs mainly on FB Radom Beryl rifles...I would imagine that those are covered by FB Radom and not WBP.
There are still some AKs in service, maybe they make spare parts for those?

They also make accessories, so this could be it.

It is an established fact that the G2 will cause the deformation here is a thread from AK Files discussing this earlier in the year . We see this type of mushrooming on a regular basis.

Here is the scoop on the rifle etc, With the surplus kits drying up and increasing in price Arms of America & Atlantic Firearms have been working diligently for the last 2 years with our friends in Poland to be able to offer Quality New Production parts to the US market. With any new product it really needs to pass the test before being widely accepted in the market as Good to Go. Both AOA & AF decided to donate the parts , Build cost and 5000 rounds of ammo to our friends @ AK Operators Union and let Rob & his crew beat the gun up .AOA & Atlantic will also be sending Rob a complete New Production Polish kit this week so he can show detailed pics of the parts and go over them in detail . We also plan on sending Mel64 a Polish Trunion so he can do some hardness testing on it and post data. AOA & Atlantic appreciate the Collaborative efforts of all involved in this project & hope it yields beneficial information for our friends in the AK Community.

More Info

Arms of America is offering the Polish parts kits and parts in general for sale if anybody is interested in doing your own build or stashing away parts for a rainy day .

Atlantic Firearms will be offering complete rifles using the New Production Polish parts in the future . We currently have guns in production now and once we have completed our own testing they will be released for sale.
