Your post is slightly misleading. Out of all the stamped guns that they use, the WASR run the longest, averaging around 100,000 rounds before catastrophic failure. Then they are usually repaired/re-built and put back on the line.

I was responding to the blanket statement that WASRs are the best running rifles at Battlefield Vegas. They simply aren't. Ron Cheney's posts indicate that milled AKs are Tier One and stamped AKs are Tier Two. When ALL stamped receivers fail and NO milled receivers do, one can't really come to any other conclusion.

However, if stamped receivers fail at, say, 100,000 rounds of full auto fire, what does that equate to in terms of reasonably paced semi-auto fire? I don't know the answer, but it seems that several hundred thousand rounds is a reasonable estimate. In other words, the stamped receiver is good enough. Something the Russians concluded by 1959 when they changed to stamped receivers.

Ron's posts do indicate that WASRs are much better rifles than many think they are and maybe as good as any stamped AK. Ron's thread is 13 pages long and a good read for any AK enthusiast. I just reread the entire thread and the information contained in that thread is mind boggling.

Yes, you are correct. Milled AKs are always superior to a stamped AK, right on. I concur that the life of a combloc, factory stamped gun has to be at least double in semi-auto. It was truly a great read for us AK guys, I could almost feel AR guys squirming as they read it.

DEGuns has always been a pretty good company. I would think they would take of you. Description more important than photo, I'd say.
Ordered a few pistols from Buds with wrong picture. But they arrive as the said description!

Not an expensive upgrade though. You can get a magpul AKM handguard and magpul or Hogue grip for $50

This was my intentional meaning, but I didn't stipulate "stamped"

Ok, you got me, I figured since we were on Stamped AK's, I wouldn't need to clarify stamped.....

I was talking Stamped AK's though, and yes correct Milled are the best overall.

Its quality is close to that of an IO Inc AK. Which is pretty much the very worst AK manufacturer

For AMD novices: spot welds on some AMD-65s are known to easily crack. A gun smith repair charge can be quite high.

If welds on the listed AMDs are much stronger than the 'TGI' AMDs (the 12" barrel normally requires the muzzle brake for the 16" legality), then maybe it won't be an issue.

You were overcharged once, by your gunsmith. Once. That doesn't make it a universal rule for everyone. No one else has had this experience of a $200 tack weld, or whatever you're still butthurt about.
