Default Arsenal SLR-101s compared to SAM7r?

Anyone know the differences and which one is preferred?

I, being one sided on this one am rooting for the SLR. I don't have the SAM though.
Make sure the SLR is the unbanned version with bayo lugs and nonpinned brake.

I Have Both . They seem identical in every way . The Slr 101s looks to be better milled in the lightening cuts ,It has less machine tool marks . Other than that can't tell the difference

It has Circle 10 on receiver. I’ve read that there might be a preference for the receiver
to be made in US?

yeah I was thinking same thing but in this particular case people were saying the US receiver was milled nicer.

I recently purchased an SLR-95 and have a SAM7.. While I can't tell you which might "last longer" and the like, the older SLR-95 is much nicer as far as build quality all the way around. It's a much smoother, nicer cut rifle.

Yeah, that's just silly. Funny thing is when the US milled receivers hit the scene back 2002-2003ish, people were complaining about things like uneven bolt carrier rails and the like.

People just complain. Its fun and kills time.

I'd take a gun actually assembled into a working rifle over in Bulgaria by Arsenal AD any day of the week.

I say that owning an SAS M7 Classic built here and a SAM7R built there.
In the past I've had many others; both US and BG made.

Agreed, the US guns tended to have a bit nicer, as in shinier, painted finishes.
The Bulgies have a more matt, utilitarian milspec finish, which i prefer personally.

Also remember: 2 SLR-101S import runs. From 2000-2001 and again 2011-2012 (apx).
Ones from the later run are very nearly identical to the SAM7Rs, because the SAM7R is just a renamed SLR-101S.

Early = fixed muzzle device or no threads, no bayo lug, thin stem bolt, and free floating firing pin.
Late = removable muzzle brake (often stuck on with paint though), bayo lug, fat stem bolt, and spring loaded firing pin.

I bought it...

it appears to have a US hammer and disconnector but the trigger appears to be Bulgy Milled double hook. It looks as if someone tried to polish the hammer but it's wavy so I'll likely end up installing Bulgy made replacement parts.

I'd prefer the shorter warsaw stock instead of the intermediate length one that came on it.

My SLR101S has a different style brake as seen on no other, other than that as mentioned just a name change.

I own both also, I'm no expert but the only difference I noticed is the paint is nicer on my US made SAM.

I might be wrong here but I understood that as having been stamped "Made in Bulgaria".
