the only problem i have with mine is it runs out of ammo every thirty times i pull the trigger

the good...shoots just like all my other aks
the bad...for the price, its no different than my other aks
the ugly...its ugly just like all aks...which makes them beautiful

in matter of fact, mine just ate up another 200 rds today...that makes about 2500 so far. no issues and ive still neglected to clean it yet

If it unlatches while shooting, I'd imagine you've got far more excitement going around you to worry about it.

Well why'd you buy one of doe's? Terrible choice of AK.

JK

Nice rifle, huh? The XM55's seem to have the most probs.

Get AKOUL Fighter 24 brake. You'll be glad you did.

Put it down. Now it isn't bad or ugly. Only good.

Sounds like that would get annoying with 40 rounders.

I'll buy it for $200 if you wanna get rid of that piece of trash.

My Arsenal SLR 107fr is the shit! I have one from the XK 55 serial range.

The only issue i have had from my 107fr is that it has light dimples and a some of the rivets arent perfectly round on top.

Other then a few minor cosmetic issues everything else is good to go!

Very nice indeed! Metal folder and all. Was that the 107fr-34 variant or did you add the metal folding buttstock?

The triangle stock was already on it when i picked it up from my lgs.

It was one of the last 2 107 FRs they had at my lgs back in early 2016.

The other 107 had a polymer stock and was priced $100 more than the 107 with the metal folder.

I found that odd thinking the metal folder was more desirable and worth more than the U.S. made polymer furniture.

Im not quite sure i picked mine in early 2016.

If i can recall correctly, K Var and Arsenal announced the 107 FRs importation was being halted back in mid 2016.

The 107 FRs were supposed to come back in 2017
2017 is almost over and no new 107 FRs have come in yet.

Im pretty sure K Var has a few pallets 107s tucked away in the back of their warehouse.

I picked up the polymer buttstock version. How difficult is it to find and swap out for a metal folder?

I have done it to my 107FR, 107CR and my 104FR. It is very easy, less then five minutes to do. It will take you longer to swap the sling from the poly stock to the triangle stock. Keep you eyes on the marketplace for a Bulgarian or a Russian 4.5mm triangle folder, they sell for about $50-110 depending on the seller and condition

If you are looking at a used one it is probably already tested for the paint issue. Mine is 300 away from the one Rob Ski tested, and mine doesn't have the paint issue.
IIRC his was in the XM 55 18XX range.

When Rob Ski did the 5000 rd challenge with the SLR 107 FR the paint on that particular rifles paint on the barrel bubbled after the 1st few hudred rounds.

His rifle used in that test was from the XM 55 serial range. Its highly speculated that some of those rifles but not all with the XM 55 serial prefix were not parkerized under the paint.

After some high volume shooting the paint on the barrel began to bubble off and chip, exposing the bare metal with a little rust on and around the gas block. However, the rifle manged to pass the 5000 rd AKOU torture test and get the AKOU's seal of approval.

Here is the link to the thread about the 1st 1000 rd test below.

Thats a sweet deal!

Mine only came with the 5 rd magazine i had to buy all my ((10)) mags seperately.

In my humble opinion K Var or Arsenal should toss you 2 standard capacity magazines with the purchase of a $1,000 rifle

Are those Bulgarian 74 handguards on your 107 FR?

I definitely like the look of your 107 FR!

Thanks, I was getting a little tired of the black poly. Those are Polish handguards and grip on the 107 and a Russian Plum set on the 104.

They used to all come with 30s' back in the day. All mine did at least. It wasn't until a few years ago they starting holding back the 30's and substituting the small capacity mags. Your spot on though, no reason not to include the 30 round waffle which I bet only costs a few bucks on their end.

I remember they tried to go back on their word but allowed it in the end. Came with a 30 rounder standard in addition I believe and not the 5 rnd.

Your really stupid to buy any AK now. You should only buy them 15 years ago when they were $199.

The one I just picked up from KVAR was an XM prefix Ill have to verify the two subsequent numeric values when I get back home, I believe they were 55. Thinking about sending an email to KVAR to say that if I start having paint issues early on they are going to have to figure something out for me. Whats yalls thoughts?

If you have any issues with the paint just hit it with some appliance epoxy!
