Default New Arsenal SGL20-32 (Pics)

Here are some pics (if I can figure out how to attach them) of the New In Box Arsenal SGL20-32 (NATO length stock, plum furniture) I picked up yesterday. The original owner never fired it, just put a Magpul grip on it died to match the plum furniture and put it in his safe. Came with box and paperwork. The target is dated February 2009. Serial number starts with L08 so 2008 manufacture.

I know the SGL21 was made for a while and the only differences between the two guns are the Bulgarian FSB and the smooth accessory lug on the SGL20. How long was the SGL20 manufactured?

I don't know why/understand the current prices for the SGL21. Not sure if that carries over to the SGL20 but I'm happy. I had a preban Springfield Armory SAR48 FAL listed for sale for $2000. I took the SGL20 and $1000 for the FAL. Both of us are happy so that's what counts.

Already located the right bayo and sling for the rifle. Looking forward to firing it for the first time.

Thanks,
Earl

I was lucky enough to buy a sgl 21-61 last week at a local shop. I paid around $1100. There's something about these rifles that just feel special to me. Op I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats on the SGL-20. What FSB does the SGL-20 have?

I don't know on that one yet Mike. I know most have Bulgarian (Arsenal apparently didn't have the Russian ones to begin with) but some do have Russian FSB's. I don't know enough about the differences to know which one is on this gun. Perhaps someone that does can say.

Very nice, I found a used SGL20 locally, lightly used for $900. Can't wait until after the holidays to pay it off and go shoot. Mine has the Russian front sight.

Thanks for the pic Greasepencil, now I can see the difference between the front sites. Mine is a bit earlier hence why it has the Bugly FSB I suppose. Mine is S#L08106381.

Anyone know when production of the SGL20 ceased and Arsenal started making the SGL21?

Thanks,
Earl

because your SGL20 has all modern components perhaps it was produced right before transitioning over to the SGL21 models.

I'm thinking mine was one of the last SGL20's made by the way it has a Russian front sight and Bulgarian gas block with the shaved accessory lug, as they weren't able to get the Russian stuff at the start of the run and when they did in late 08'/ early 09', it became the SGL21 with those parts being the only changes...to me it's pretty cool being a one year only model.

Exactly my thoughts about it as well, I thought it was an SGL21 when I bought it (layaway) but learned it was the prior model with some transitional features.
