Because sometimes you say to yourself, "Wow, you know what? This AK just absolutely isn't overgassed enough"

Love the worn finish - i think I might go that route with my next build

1993 Norinco 7.62 x 39 MAK 90 with Afromosia Ironwood stock set. Finished off with three coats of Zinsser Amber Shellac straight from the can. Shellac is awesome stuff! Goes on smooth and dries FAST!

Thanks. A member here lists M76 parts in the Marketplace. Bolted up without any issue. A thorough cleaning, Ballistol rub down and a few passes with a file was all it took. Feels much better on the cheek. Can't wait to get to the range.

It definitely looks shorter than the O-PAP stock.

Same length stock bolt. I should've taken pics SxS when they were both unmounted. The comb is the big difference. Feels so much better when you line up the sights.

I did some more things to my Saiga...

I just installed that Bulgarian 74 FSB and KVAR 74-style brake for 7.62.

I took off the CSS billet aluminum trigger guard / pg nut combo and the CSS bolt-on handguard retainer and added the original Saiga trigger guard, a regular PG nut and I modified a Bulgarian 74 lower handguard retainer (re-using the locking lever) to fit over the barrel without having to press off the FSB and gas block.

I didn't bother changing out the gas block, I don't have a press, I did the FSB swap with a wooden baseball bat.

I know it's full of receiver holes but I didn't like having the plastic caps in there.

That looks good! I ordered a lower handguard retainer from Dinzag, but would have liked to keep an "original" retainer. Everything else, as far as the conversion goes, looks similar. It bothered me a little that I still have the Saiga gas block, but I decided that instead of changing it, I would just buy another AK with a proper gas block.

Crappy pic but just got a DPH stock for my Yugo. Far superior to the bulky wood thing that came on it.
